Our Story…

In 2015, The Yard Foundation emerged from a firefighter training group on Facebook, and quickly became a beacon of support and compassion for those who put their lives on the line every day. It all started with a simple idea: firefighters helping firefighters.

The seeds of our foundation were planted in empathy and a deep understanding of the struggles faced by our firefighting community.

The catalyst?

A dear friend's son diagnosed with cancer.

The rallying cry?

Let's turn our collective strength into something transformative.

Fanning the Flames of Compassion...

From our humble beginnings, we've grown into a force of over 50,000 members united by a shared purpose. Our grassroots approach transcends the ordinary. It's the embodiment of firefighters supporting each other. This spirit is what led us to donate over $950,000 to the families of fallen comrades in Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, California, Franklin Park, Irmo, and beyond.

Beyond Firehouses...

Our vision goes beyond the firehouse walls. We stand as the leading resource for firefighters and their families in their time of need. From cancer battles to providing mammograms for at-risk women every October. We've expanded our reach to touch lives in places like Chicago, Indy, Philly, Texas, Baltimore and more.

Every Act Counts...

We believe that every act of kindness counts, whether it's purchasing toys for hospitalized kids during the holidays, assisting with funeral costs for struggling firefighter families, or providing solace to community members facing the aftermath of a home fire.

…is to provide funding and assistance to firefighters, first responders, and their families who are in need, be it from illness, disease, or other circumstances. We also extend our support to other charitable causes within the meaning of IRC 501(c)(3). Our endeavors are driven by the purpose of making a positive impact, adhering to the guidelines of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
