In memory of a true Chicago hero.
Michael Robert Lopez, a dedicated member of the Chicago Fire Department for 16 years, passed away on 10/27/23. Born and raised on the vibrant streets of the South Side, Michael's journey led him through Christ the King grammar school, Mount Carmel High School, and Columbia College.
In the face of adversity, Michael's commitment to service endured, even after a leg amputation in December 2021 forced him onto disability. Throughout his career, he embodied the spirit of the Chicago Fire Department, and his legacy remains etched in the hearts of those he served.
As we remember Michael, let's honor his memory by supporting his loved ones during this challenging time. Your contribution will not only help ease the financial burden they now face but will also serve as a testament to the solidarity within the firefighting community.
