Support Retired Chief Kevin Doyle in His Recovery:

We are reaching out to the community to support Retired Chief Kevin Doyle of the Maysville Fire Department, who was involved in a serious accident on May 22nd, just four days after celebrating his retirement.

The Incident:

While working on a residence in Mason County, Kevin fell from atop trusses and was pinned under multiple fallen trusses. His former colleagues, who served under him during his nine years as Chief, responded quickly and ensured his fast transport to UK HealthCare, one of Kentucky’s only level-one trauma centers. Kevin suffered extensive injuries, including nine broken ribs, a collapse of both lungs, a liver laceration, and other internal injuries. He has since developed an infection and sepsis, and remains in the ICU over a week later.

Kevin's Legacy:

Kevin dedicated 20 years to the career fire service and began volunteering at the age of 15 for the Brooksville Volunteer Fire Department. He continues to serve as a volunteer member of the Fernleaf Volunteer Fire Department. As a state fire instructor, Kevin has trained numerous firefighters on various topics and certifications. Outside of the fire service, he runs a local construction company, Unit 42, LLC, named after his unit number with the MFD, where he works alongside his son to build structures for local families and businesses.
