Help a Firefighter's Son Breathe Easy: Support Ayden's Recovery
Ayden's Battle: A Firefighter's Son Needs Your Help
On February 2nd, the world turned upside down for the Barss family. Ayden, the son of Saratoga Springs Fire IAFF Local 343 member Derrick Barss, was admitted to Albany Medical Center, initially diagnosed with the flu.
Tragically, Ayden's condition deteriorated rapidly, leading to pneumonia, a tension pneumothorax, and lung necrosis. He underwent emergency surgery to place a chest tube and now faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
Firefighters are always there for us in times of need. Now, one of our own needs support.
Derrick and his family face mounting medical expenses, including lodging, as they stay close to Ayden's side.
Your generous donation will help alleviate these burdens, allowing the Barss family to focus on what matters most: Ayden's healing.
