Urgent Support Needed for Firefighter Jason Scheidts

Firefighter Jason Scheidts in front of a blue fire engine. He has a hat, hoodie and radio on.

On the morning of June 13th, Jason Scheidts was involved in a severe off-duty motorcycle accident, resulting in a broken femur and severe lower leg injuries. On June 17th, Jason undergoes surgery to amputate his leg below the knee.

Jason, a 31-year-old career firefighter with Washington Township Fire Department in Gloucester County, NJ, IAFF Local 4204, has served his community for about three years.

Recently married this past October, Jason and his wife, Jess, are expecting their first child in late September. Tragically, Jason's accident occurred just two days before their baby shower. The couple now faces significant financial uncertainty due to Jason's injury, loss of income, and Jess needing to care for him.

Jason is determined and committed to returning to duty with a prosthetic, but the journey ahead will be challenging. The financial strain of lost income, medical expenses, and the unknown future weighs heavily on their growing family.

We are calling on our community to support Jason, Jess, and their unborn child during this difficult time. Your donations will help alleviate the financial burden they face and provide much-needed support as they navigate the road to recovery.

Thank you for your generosity and support for one of our own.
