Support Needed for Leah Anderson and Family

Brandon Anderson, a dedicated firefighter with the Lake Cities Fire Department in Corinth, TX, has served his community for over five years. Brandon and his wife, Leah Anderson, have two young children, Teddy (4) and Maisie (8 months). Recently, their family has faced an unexpected and severe health crisis.

Over the past few months, Leah experienced unexplained nausea and vomiting. Initially diagnosed with functional nausea, Leah's condition worsened with severe fatigue and random bruising. On June 26, 2024, their primary care doctor ordered blood work, and the following morning, Leah was urgently referred to a hematologist and oncologist at the emergency room in Grapevine, TX, due to severe anemia.

Later that evening, on June 27, 2024, Leah received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) after a blood smear review and confirmation by two pathologists. The next day, Leah underwent a bone marrow biopsy and had a PICC line placed. She will begin chemotherapy this week and will be hospitalized for at least six weeks at the Baylor Scott and White Cancer Center in Grapevine. Leah also celebrated her 31st birthday on the day of her diagnosis.

This devastating news has placed a significant emotional and financial strain on the Anderson family. Brandon continues to serve his community while supporting his wife and caring for their young children.

We are reaching out to the community to rally around the Anderson family during this challenging time. Your generous donations will help cover medical expenses and support the family as Leah undergoes intensive treatment.
